YORK Minster Engineering League Reserve A Division leaders Wigginton Grasshoppers were pushed all of the way by Rufforth United before a late goal from Mill Lane stalwart Tom Coates secured the points for his side.

Jamie Willstrop had fired Grasshoppers into a first-half lead only for Dan Atkinson to bring Rufforth back level. However, Coates had the last laugh, bagging four minutes from time to earn his side a 2-1 win.

Dunnington got their season off to a flying start after winning 7-0 against Thorpe United. Fin Smith hit a hat-trick with Harry Blackwell, Alex Wilson, Simon Castle and Rob Hart also on the score sheet.

A Jack Condron strike and a Jon Beech penalty earned Poppleton a 2-0 success at Easingwold Town.

Strensall Tigers kept up their perfect start in Reserve B with a 2-1 triumph at Hemingbrough United. Lennon Grayson bagged a brace for the Tigers with Dylan Craven on target for the hosts.

Rawcliffe are now four points behind in second place following a 4-4 draw with Osbaldwick. Sam Thompson and Nick Lawrie each bagged doubles for Osso. Liam King (2), Tom Himsworth and Sam Smith struck to earn Rawcliffe a share of the points.

Darren Brandon was at the double for Stamford Bridge in a 3-1 success at Haxby Town. Jack Creaser grabbed the third Bridge goal with Matt Boggan finding the net for Haxby.

Cliffe were hammered 6-1 to visiting Tadcaster Magnets.

Third-placed Civil Service brought Reserve C pacesetters Garforth's 100 per cent record to an end in a 1-1 draw. Joe Davis gave Garforth a first-half lead before Will Wood equalised in the second period.

Ben Walker struck a fine goal for Fulford in a 1-1 draw at Wilberfoss. Harrison Signs led 2-1 at the break at Wheldrake but could not hold on to their lead as the home side came back to secure a 4-3 win.
