YORK City Knights head coach James Ford will take the 26-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge next week to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow was diagnosed with MND late last year and since then the rugby league community has come together to raise money for Burrow, his family and the MNDA.
Of his challenge, which takes place on Sunday, October 18, Ford said: “It’s the least we can do to support a close friend who has brought so much joy to so many lives.
"Rob has been described as many things in his career, but for me there’s no more fitting word than inspirational, I’m convinced there’s a great number of current players in the game because of Rob.
“I know first hand how grateful he would be for anyone to support his fight against MND and help raise awareness for everyone else suffering from this horrendous disease.”
