HAXBY Town moved to the top of division one of the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League with an emphatic 7-2 defeat of Hounds.

After a tense first half, which saw Haxby establish a slender one-goal lead, the floodgates opened in the second period with the Ethel Ward side running riot.

Adam Chaplin and Tom Kilvington both bagged braces with Joe Evans, Cameron Hall and Paul Holmes notching individual efforts.

Luke Pearse grabbed both of Hounds' goals.

A Sean Hunter hat-trick gave Atlanta every chance of taking the points from their clash at home to Bramham, but the visitors showed great resilience to claim a point from a 3-3 draw.

The draw puts Atlanta joint top with Haxby on four points apiece, with the former second only on goal difference.
