YORK City's pre-season preparations will continue with a friendly at Vanarama National League club Notts County later this month.

The Minstermen will make the visit to Meadow Lane on Saturday, September 26 (3pm kick-off), just seven days before their 2020/21 competitive season is set to get underway in the Emirates FA Cup.

According to a York statement, "the game will be played behind closed doors with Notts County planning to live stream the fixture."

Notts County finished third in the National League table last term after the division's points per game ruling amid the coronavirus pandemic.

They would go on to defeat Barnet 2-0 in the play-off semi-final but were beaten 3-1 by Harrogate Town in the play-off final at Wembley.

York and Notts County last met in pre-season last year, with City winning 3-1.
