FORMER York City striker Richard Brodie will be taking part in a Q&A event in York in November.

Staged at Haxby Sports Bar on Sunday, November 8 (7pm-9pm), the event will see Brodie tell stories from his two spells at the club and take part in a Q&A with supporters with a York City quiz also taking place.

Brodie was York's top goalscorer in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons, finishing at the top of the goalscoring charts in the Conference Premier in the latter. He became only the third York player to be the division’s top scorer in the club’s history.

The event is being run by York Hospital Ball, a popular podcast among Minstermen fans for their interviews with former City players and managers, such as Gary Mills, Richard Cresswell and Andy McMillan.

This is their first venture into a live event, having only launched the podcast in November.

There are a very limited number of tickets due to social distancing. Tickets are priced at £5 with all funds raised going to York Hospital Radio.

Dan Tait, who founded the podcast and conducts the interviews, thinks that the live event is a natural progression for the podcast.

He said: "Richard is one of our most listened to episodes but immediately after recording said he had more stories to tell and we started planning for this event pretty much there and then.

"Richard loved playing for York City and didn't want to leave either time and is as honest as the day is long.

"I am sure it will be a real special night for supporters who enjoyed seeing him score so many goals at Bootham Crescent."
