YORK City Knights forward Josh Jordan-Roberts will join Rochdale Hornets ahead of the 2021 season.

The 21-year-old joined York from Leeds Rhinos in 2018 and went on to feature in the Knights squads which won the 2018 Betfred League 1 title and secured a third-placed finish in the Betfred Championship last year.

In total, the second-rower played 30 times for James Ford's side, scoring six tries.

Jordan-Roberts' move sees him drop down to League 1 to play for Matt Calland's Rochdale side who were relegated from the Championship last year.

"It's a new challenge for me and one I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it," he said.

"Matt is assembling a great squad here and next season is going to be a big one with the aim of bouncing back up to the Championship. The club is on a new journey, and I am looking forward to being a part of it."
