SELBY Town marked their match since March with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Westella & Willerby.

After the disappointment of seeing their 2019/20 Northern Counties East League division one season cancelled when the club were third in the table, kicking off pre-season campaign in some style. at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium.

Selby’s first goal however did not arrive until the 42nd minute , debutant George Bissett being the scorer.

Two more goals quickly followed before half-time as a Liam Flanagan penalty and a Charlie Clamp strike made it 3-0 at half-time.

Bissett scored his second after the restart before further finishes from Josh Street and substitute Wes Naulls, as well as a Westella own goal, rounded off a terrific afternoon.

Meanwhile, Pickering were beaten 2-1 away to Knaresborough Town, with Wayne Brooksby, who was appointed as the club’s new captain last week, scoring the Pikes’ only goal.

Daniel Thirkell and Joe Wicks were on the scoresheet for Knaresborough.
