FORMER York City academy striker Jess Park has become the first sportsperson to sign with a new management company run by two rugby league stars.

18-year-old Park joined Manchester City from York back in 2017 and has quickly progressed through the ranks with the former Women's Super League champions

She penned her first professional contract in April on a three-year deal.

Now though Park has signed with The Players Player management company.

The new business is run by Hull Kingston Rovers and Scotland international half-back Ryan Brierley and former Salford Red Devils, Leigh Centurions and Toronto Wolfpack second-row forward Cory Paterson.

The Players Player wrote on Instagram: "Jess is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game, having already appeared 15 times for the first team scoring 5 goals in her last 7 appearances.

"The Players Player believe they have secured one of the most sought-after talents of her generation and are excited and honoured that she has chosen The Players Player to help guide her on her path to fulfil her potential.

“To secure one of the best talents in the country is obviously incredible, but we want to pay testament to Jess as a person before a football player, we at Players Player believe that being a good person is critical to having a successful career and when we spoke to Jess, the way she spoke, her morals and her behaviour throughout the process was impeccable and she really is a credit to her family.

"We look forward to protecting Jess and are excited about what the future holds for her”

Park said: "I am delighted to announce that I have signed with the amazing new agency The Players Player.

"I am very excited for the future with this team and I am looking forward to working alongside Cory Paterson and Ryan Brierley."
