A CROWDFUNDING page has been set up to raise money for former York City Knights prop Jordan Cox who died aged 27 on Thursday.

The page has been set up by retired rugby league player Dave Petersen, who featured for the Knights during their 2019 season and was a team-mate of Cox's during the pair's time at Hull Kingston Rovers back in 2012.

"This lad was forever the loudest, the funniest kid around," wrote Petersen on his JustGiving page.

"A pain in the arse, a nightmare but a great person and a good friend to many.

"Life was rugby, and he was a cracking player. You will be sadly missed mate.

"Let's raise a few quid and celebrate his memory!

"A great player for a few teams in rugby league. and heart and sole of Hull KR many years.

"I am calling all of the boys that knew him to grow a tash for May in honor of our good friend Coxy!

"RIP and our thoughts, prayers, love and hugs go to his family and friends."
