UNDEFEATED York professional boxer George Davey will feature in a new eSports boxing game.

A trailer released by Steel City Interactive, an independent game development studio, revealed their new game ‘eSports Boxing Club’, which began development last year.

The announcement whetted the appetites for boxing fans who have been long calling for a boxing video game since the ‘Fight Night’ series, the last of which was released in 2011.

The trailer announced that British legends Frank Bruno and Rick Hatton would feature in the game, as would high-profile trainers Ben Davison and Ben Davison, the former coaches of champions Tyson Fury and Tony Bellew respectively.

Davey, who is currently in lockdown in Lanzarote with his family, expressed his delight at being involved in the project.

“It’s a massive privilege to be able to be a part of such a good game with so many great fighters," said the super welterweight who has won both of his two pro fights to date.

“I’ve signed the contract and I’m just waiting to go back to England now.

"Once I’m back, I’ll go down to the developers to be scanned by the system that they use.

“They’ll scan my body so that I can be represented in the game.

“The Fight Night games were massive when they first came out and I bought pretty much all of them.

“People have been calling out for a long time.

“I’m really looking forward to playing it myself.

"Maybe boxing Frank Bruno or Nigel Benn and see where my level is at!"
