YORK City Academy regained second spot in National League Under-19s Alliance with a comfortable 5-0 win over basement side Darlington.
With former second-placed side Guiseley not in action, the Minstermen took full advantage and got back to winning ways after two outings against Hartlepool without victory.
York took the lead in the 11th minute after Charlie Jebson-King's ball over the top caused problems in the visitors' backline and a defender turned into his own net.
It took until the 36th minute for Will Jackson to double the hosts' advantage, smashing in Ethan Henderson's ball across goal.
But just two minutes later, it was three. Nathan Dyer, pictured, was brought down in the area and Jebson-King sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Jake Watson headed in a fourth seven minutes after the break and Henderson added a fifth after the hour mark.
York's next league outing is at home to high-flying rivals Guiseley this coming Wednesday.
