JAMES FORD will be assisting Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow at an upcoming fundraising game next month.

In December, it was publicly revealed that Burrow had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and almost £350,000 has since been raise to support the 37-year-old former rugby league star.

York City Knights head coach Ford will be assisting Burrow in a game played between newly-formed Goole Vikings and Ackworth Jaguars - whom Burrow formerly coached - on Saturday, March 21 (1pm kick-off) at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds in Goole.

"The day is not just a celebration of rugby league, it's a day to raise awareness and funds for Rob's family and for his fight against MND," said Ford on the Knights' Twitter page.

"I'll be there assisting Rob and doing everything I can to see Ackworth Jaguars be the first winners of the John Jordan Memorial trophy."
