OSBALDWICK FC have announced a memorial match at Dringhouses to honour three Osso greats.

Player Andy Green, manager Dave Taylor and chairman John Bell, who passed away last year, will be remembered on Sunday, May 17 (1pm) at Dringhouses FC.

It is 10 years since Dave’s passing and it is fitting to share the memorial game with Dringhouses, who were great rivals during his tenure.

Dringhouses are also the club where Andy spent a lot of his playing career and whom he managed for several years. He passed away in 2009 just two months after a cancer diagnosis.

As a manager, prior to becoming chairman, John guided Osbaldwick to an unprecedented period of dominance in the York & District League, winning 10 league titles in 10 seasons from 1983/84 to 1992/93.

An Osbaldwick spokesperson said: "Anybody who played with or for the above is more than welcome to come down and lace up their boots during what should be a fantastic day of celebration."

The bar will be open with food available and there will also be a raffle on the day to raise funds for a charity to be announced at a later date.
