The ground - situated at Monks Cross - will host games of both York City FC and York City Knights RLFC.
On February 9, York City Knights are scheduled to host Bradford Bulls at the Community Stadium for their first home game of the 2020 Betfred Championship season.
At the Knights' fans forum on Tuesday night, chairman Jon Flatman urged fans to back the stadium project.
