TADCASTER Albion went down 2-0 at Workington in the BetVictor Northern Premier League north/west division – but they have an instant opportunity to gain revenge.

After the first ever meeting between the sides in the league on Saturday, they collide again at Ings Lane on Tuesday (7.45pm) in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

Defeat to the leaders leaves the Brewers in fifth position, although with games in hand on all the teams above them in the table.

Bradley Hubbold gave Workington a 27th minute lead and Nathan Waterson grabbed the second five minutes after half-time.

Albion went close late on through Jake Day, Jack Walters and Will Annan, but were unable to find a way through.

Pickering Town handed home debuts to four players in their 3-0 defeat by City of Liverpool in the NPL north/west division.

Selby Town’s home clash with Bridlington Town in the second round of the FA Vase was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Robins remain third in division one of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

Leaders Skegness Town stretched their advantage at the top to six points with a 2-1 home win over Brigg Town, while second-placed Campion were not in action.
