THE weekend rain played havoc with the York FA Cup fixture list.

All eight York FA Saturday Senior Cup second round games were postponed, with only two out of 16 ties going ahead in the York FA Saturday Junior Cup.

Dringhouses Reserves booked their place in round three of the Junior Cup with a 3-0 win at Thorpe United Reserves, whose well drained pitch ensured the game was played.

F1 Racing Reserves, playing on the artificial pitch at York St John University, lost 5-1 to Wilberfoss.

The postponed games have been rescheduled for Saturday, November 23, which was earmarked as the date for the third round.

There was only one game played in the York Minster Engineering League, with Malton & Norton bagging a 3-2 home victory over Harrison Signs in division one.

The win moved the Ryedale side up to eighth in the table, while their opponents remain second from bottom.

The Malton & Norton scorers were Connor Pickering, Matthew Reeves and Josh Ward, with Neil Richardson netting both Harrison Signs goals.

The home side’s Liam Burdett was sent off.
