STEVE WATSON has hailed his "well-balanced" York City side and insists he does not want to tinker with it unnecessarily.
The 3-5-2 formation employed this term has reaped plenty of rewards already. York are on a 22-game unbeaten run, through to the FA Cup first round and lead the National League North ahead of Saturday's trip to second-placed Chester.
With Dan Maguire, Kallum Griffiths and Steve McNulty all back in action, Watson's squad is now the most replete it has been since the first game of the season.
"We've got a system that's worked," he said.
"We tried it last season but we didn't have the personnel to do it or the time to put the work in.
"We've worked all pre-season on it and I'm not going to put square pegs in round holes just to give people games.
"The team looks well-balanced and now we've got everybody fit we've got options and that's all I can ask for at this stage."
