YORK City Academy are level on points with the league leaders after sealing a 2-0 win over AFC Fylde at Wigginton Road.

Goals from Brandon Finn and Reiss Harrison proved to be the difference for York as they took three points in the National League Academy North D.

City are now one of four sides that sit on six points alongside Guiseley, Fylde and Chester.

York are second with a goal difference of +6, bettered only by Guiseley on +10.

Charlie Jebson-King, who appeared for York's first-team earlier in the season in the FA Cup second qualifying round tie against Irlam, captained the team.

Fellow first-team squad members Harrison and Jake Watson also started for the Minstermen.

After just seven minutes, York took the lead as Harrison headed home from close range after a failed clearance by the Fylde goalkeeper.

With 18 minutes left, City doubled their lead as a corner dropped to the feet of Finn who struck a low shot into the bottom corner.
