FORMER Great Britain star Danny Maguire handed out the prizes at Heworth ARLC's annual presentation night.

Maguire, the ex-Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR half-back, presented George Elliott with the Villagers' Coaches' Player of the Year award.

Gareth Watson was the Players' Player of the Season, with Liam Watling being awarded the Man of Steel accolade.

The 'A' Team Player of the Year award went to Liam Braithwaite, with Josh Hughes being voted 'A' Team Players' Player of the Year and Ben Barnard the Best Young Player.

More than 100 guests attended the event at York Sports Club at Clifton Park.

Coach Scott Rhodes' Heworth side finished third in the Kingstone Press National Conference League division three table.

Their promotion challenge ended in a 30-16 play-off final defeat at home to Dewsbury Celtic.
