CITY of York Hockey Club Men I's poor start to term continued with an 8-1 hammering at home to Lindum.

Now bottom of North League premier division, York have struggled so far this term with the loss of several quality players.

The hosts made a good fist of the first half but once Lindum got their opening goal, it was a procession.

James Fitton bagged City's consolation.

City of York II rose to seventh in east division three south after fighting back for a 4-4 draw at Lindum II. A George Good strike added to Zach Pierson's hat-trick.

City of York III lost 4-3 at home to Sheffield Hallam IV in Yorkshire League premier division. Joel Wilson, Pat Herriott and Alfie Spouse scored.

Premier division basement side City of York IV lost 9-2 at Ben Rhydding II. Rob Prentice got both goals.

George Trowsdale's goal earned City of York V a 1-1 draw at Harrogate in division two.

In division four north, table-toppers City of York VI beat Halifax III 5-0, a scoreline emulated by fifth-placed City of York VII at Leeds Adel V, Sam Moore (3), Josh Perryman and Josh Prins the scorers.

City of York VIII beat Wakefield VII 5-1 in division five north thanks to goals from James Gilbert (2), Andy Forman 1, Graham Mackfall and Malc Cossey.

City of York X beat Airedale 3-0 in Men's Development north division, with Rufus Wordsworth getting a hat-trick.

Amy Birch scored to earn City of York Ladies I a 1-1 draw against North Women's League division one high-fliers Morpeth.

Yorkshire Women's League premier division leaders City of York Ladies II won 5-0 at Driffield II thanks to goals from Vicky Skilton (2), Corinne Wray, Helena Gascoyne and Kelly Hunter.

Will Linden and Liz Armitage were on target for City of York Ladies III, who lost 3-2 against Wakefield III in the premier division.

City of York Ladies IV lost 5-0 to division two leaders Halifax III.

Carla Metcalfe scored to give City of York Ladies V a 1-1 draw at Leeds University V in division five north. Ninth-placed City of York Ladies VI were thumped 9-0 by Leeds University VI.

City of York Under-10s kicked off their Yorkshire Youth League season. In division one, the 'A' team won all four games, scoring 12 goals - through Izzy Hogg, Daisy Hughes,Nina Hopkins, Holly King and Harriet Wright - and conceding none.

In division two, Tizzy Hallam and Innes McGonicle were on top goalscoring form for the 'B' team and in division three, 'C' team scoring honours went to Alice Shepherd, Cate Stewart and Dorothy Graham.

Acomb Hockey Club Men I claimed their first win of the season with a 4-2 victory over Halifax II.

The result takes the Tangerines to eighth in Yorkshire League division one and leaves Halifax winless in four and rooted to the bottom of the table.

Jamie Robinson, Pete Greenwood (2) and Tom Brown were the scorers.

Acomb II thrashed Airedale 6-2 in division four north thanks to strikes from John Forecast (4), Neil Hutchins and skipper Anthony Daley rounded off the scoring with a superb solo effort.

Acomb Ladies remain at the foot of Yorkshire Women's League division one following a 3-0 home defeat to Airedale.
