The visitors took the lead with a goal from open play on five minutes and, with Acomb struggling for decent possession, and they scored a second two minutes before the break.

Owen Wilkie started to gain possession along with Peter Greenwood to allow Jonny Brown and Dave Richardson to put pressure on the Scarborough goal.

Three minutes after the break Scarborough increased their advantage but half-way through the period Acomb got themselves onto the scoresheet to narrow the difference when Wilkie netted from close range.

With the final play of the game the visitors scored a fourth.

Acomb II started their Yorkshire League division four north campaign with a 3-2 defeat against Leodis Leeds I.

With both teams having been promoted from division five, a close encounter was expected but Leeds scored three goals in the first half when the Tangerines were short due to a player being held up in traffic.
