Huntington Rovers topple York Minster Engineering League champions Old Malton St Mary's

Rovers, who were beaten 5-1 at Malton in August, had evergreen Chris Dyson to thank for inflicting St Mary's first defeat of the season, the striker hitting a trademark hat-trick to sink the Ryedale side.

Rovers have now moved up to sixth in the table after three straight wins.

Wigginton Grasshoppers continue to lead the table following a 4-1 win over Copmanthorpe. Dan Jones pounced on a defensive error to fire home and give Copmanthorpe the lead after just 10 minutes, but Alistair Clothier levelled when he raced in between a Cop defender and their keeper to steal the ball and produce a tidy finish.

A 30-yard cross-come-shot from Jamie Higginbotham then gave Wiggy a 2-1 advantage before Gary Newton lashed the ball home from the edge of the area at the opening of the second period to increase the advantage.

A towering header from Jordan Holt completed the scoring.

Dringhouses’ perfect record was extended further as they defeated Easingwold Town 6-3.

Matthew Mulhearn, James Robinson, George Brown, Dave Watson, Jamie Barkway and Liam Robertson fired Houses to victory.

Fourth-placed Dunnington put five past Church Fenton without reply. Simon Castle (2), Cole Carter, Isaac Overton and Dan Lister netted for the hosts.

F1 Racing went down 1-0 early in their game with Kirkbymoorside but a blistering 20-minute spell saw F1 move ahead 5-1 at the break.

Two goals from Alex Martin were matched by a brace from Roly Sandaval with a Dan Hickey effort adding to their total.

Kirkbymoorside pulled one back in the second half but a long-range effort from Oli Kilvington made it 6-2 to F1 before Peter Konstantynov put the icing on a 7-2 victory.

Luke Wilkinson and Nathan Robinson looked to have secured Poppleton United a point as they were locked at 2-2 with Thorpe United in injury time, but a late attack sent all three points to the Selby side with Thorpe edging ahead to win 3-2.

Strensall Tigers made it four wins from four in division one with a 3-1 defeat of Stamford Bridge.

Kieran Harris was the home side’s hero, hitting a hat-trick to maintain his side’s five-point cushion at the top of the table.

Malton & Norton sit second after a 6-4 victory at Cliffe. Kingsley Daffern (2), Matthew Reeves (2), Steven Hoggard and Thomas Audsley netted for the visitors.

Niall Smallwood hit a brace for Rawcliffe as they defeated Harrison Signs 2-0, while Deacon Brace lived up to his name, bagging both goals in Malt Shovel’s 2-0 triumph over Pocklington Town.

Ash Hope and Dan Marshall were both at the double for Marston Green in a 6-4 success at Haxby Town.

Liam Neal and Danny Smith completed the away side’s scoring. An own goal added to efforts from Adam Chaplin, Dan Clipston and David Fell to make up Haxby’s haul.

Nick Lawrie struck twice in the first-half as Osbaldwick took the game to Tockwith. Oliver Green added a third in the second period to seal a 3-0 win and secure Osso’s first points of the season.

Oliver McArdle, James Hymers and Andy Kerr struck for Riccall United in a fiercely contested game with Bishopthorpe United.

The away side had the better of proceedings however, and left with a 4-3 win after Riccall were reduced to 10 men and experienced a further sin bin punishment.

In division two, Civil Service continued with their 100 per cent record with a 7-1 defeat of Barmby Moor.

Luke Addison and Bobby Clapham gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at the break and they extended this in some style as Callum Watson, Alex Day (2), Liam Bartlett and Addison added second half strikes to make it 7-0. Moor grabbed a late consolation.

Matthew Ward and Ben Bloxham struck for Cawood in a 2-1 victory at Brooklyn.

Heslington sit third after a hat-trick from Russ Carr and a Danny Mairs strike gave them a 4-0 success at Clifford.

Dan Gibney also hit a treble as Wilberfoss cruised to a 5-0 victory over Bubwith. Adam Webster and Ian Cappleman struck the hosts’ other goals.

Rufforth defeated The Beagle 2-0 while Pollington took the lion’s share of the 11 goals in their game with Wheldrake, winning 7-4.

Cohen Vause hit a double hat-trick for the home side whose scoring was completed by Matty Wright. James Smith and Chris Verzi struck two apiece for Wheldrake.

Garforth made it five from five in division three as goals from Calvin Steel (2), Ryan Peate and Jed Hudson earned them a 4-1 win over Swinton.

Thomas Green (2), Brandon Carrick (2), Andy Haigh and Lee Johnson fired Crayke United to a 6-3 win at LNER Builders.

Jordan Siswick (2) and Gary Rylance struck for Walnut Tree to earn them a point from a 3-3 home draw with Elm Park.

Ethan Kay was on target for Fulford United but could not stop them crashing to a 4-1 loss at York St John University.

Selby Olympia defeated York RI 6-4.
