WILL OAKES has won the Fans' Poll from York City Knights' cruical 22-18 victory over Featherstone Rovers on Sunday.

The win for York secured themselves a spot in the Betfred Championship play-offs for the first time since their reformation back in 2002.

Oakes, who is on loan from Super League side Hull KR until the end of the season, was selected by the star man in the triumph by voterse on a poll by our website, taking 52% of the vote.

The Scotland international dived in over on the right corner for York's first try which came when the Knights found themselves 12-0 behind a quarter of the way into the match, sparking the team's comeback.

It was Oakes' sixth try in his ten York appearances in this campaign.

Then, early in the second period, both Oakes and Matty Marsh combined to deny Featherstone's Alex Sutcliffe a try.

The outside back could be one of several York players to be rested by James Ford over the next couple of weeks, with the coach admitting he will shuffle his pack for remaining matches against Leigh and Halifax.
