YORK City and York City Knights are gearing up to host their club open days next week.
The Knights’ event takes place on Tuesday, July 9 (from 6pm) at their playing fields at York St John’s Haxby Road playing fields while City host theirs at Bootham Crescent on Saturday, July 13 (gates open at 11am).
Attendance at both is free, as is parking at the Haxby Road complex.
Both men’s and ladies’ Knights teams will be in attendance at the Haxby Road event - searchable on social media using the hashtag ‘#KnightsFest’ - where fans will be able to secure their season ticket for the coming 2020 campaign and see plans for the Community Stadium.
As with last year’s edition, which drew more than 1000 fans, there will once again be a junior rugby league festival taking place alongside an inflatable obstacle course and pitch-side barbecue while merchandise will be on sale with 25 per cent reductions.
At Bootham Crescent at the weekend, fans will have the opportunity to meet York City players and management; watch a first-team training session (noon) led by manager Steve Watson and assistant Micky Cummins; and attend the official photocall (11.15am).
The team’s brand-new ‘Y-Front’ kit will be on sale in the club shop and players will be available for autographs and photographs from 1pm until 2pm, when the event closes.
There will also be fairground rides and stalls, a penalty shoot-out in the club car-park, a licensed bar and a programme sale. Ice creams and refreshments will also be available.
