YORK City today unveiled their new replica kit for the 2019/20 at the Minster.

The kit, produced by Under Armour and sponsored by JM Packaging, features the iconic 'Y-Front' design originally worn by City teams in the 1970s.

Supporters voted online for the home design in March and opted for a navy blue Y-Front on a red shirt. The home shorts are navy blue and the socks are white.

The away kit next season features a white Y-Front on a navy blue shirt and the third-choice kit is maroon on white.

The Minstermen will wear the new home kit for the first time next Wednesday night (July 10) in a pre-season friendly against Leeds United at Bootham Crescent (kick-off 7pm).

All new shirts will be on sale at the club shop from 10am on Monday morning (July 8), with adult shirts costing £39.99 and juniors £29.99.

Season ticket holders can claim 10% off the new shirts in the club shop.

Commenting on the launch, City commercial manager Chris Pegg said: “We are delighted to be launching our new kits for the 2019/20 season and can’t wait to see the team, as well as supporters from all generations, wearing the shirts in the new season.

“It is especially exciting to launch our new kit at the iconic York Minster that lends itself to our nickname – many thanks to the Dean and Chapter for their kind welcome.

“Despite fire, wars and the impact of time, York Minster continues to sit proudly with visitors flocking from far and wide to view the beauty and historical significance that this building brings.

"After a couple of tough seasons, hopefully the club can take inspiration."

A spokesperson on behalf of York Minster said: “We were delighted when York City approached us to do the kit launch at the Minster and were more than happy to help.

"We hope the players can be inspired by the city’s magnificent cathedral and we would like to pass on our best wishes to the Minstermen for the forthcoming season."
