YORK City Supporters’ Trust have reduced prices for their Farewell Bootham Crescent Dinner and changed the date to Friday, February 7.

Tickets for the Principal Hotel-hosted event were originally costed at £87 but can now be bought for £55 (or £500 for a table of ten).

The dress code has also been relaxed to include lounge suits, with the Trust set to announce high-profile guests and speakers for the night shortly.

A special audio-visual production, featuring archive footage spanning nine decades at Bootham Crescent, will be shown on the evening, with music and a bar ensuring the festivities will last long into the evening.

The hotel, located close to York Railway Station and formerly known as the Royal Station Hotel, has been chosen as the venue having also hosted a celebratory dinner in 1948 to mark the club’s purchase of Bootham Crescent.

Consequently, the three-course menu for the February party will carry a post-war flavour, albeit with a more palatable, contemporary twist and guests will be able to pre-order from several dishes available for each course in the run up to the event.

Speaking about the dinner, Trust chairman Mike Brown said, “We are thrilled to follow in the footsteps of the club’s forefathers by hosting this unique celebration of Bootham Crescent. It will be a fantastic opportunity for fans to share their fondest memories of the ground.”

Tracy Harrison, general manager of The Principal York, added: “The hotel is delighted to be hosting this special event some 72 years on from the 1948 dinner. We hope that all guests have an enjoyable and memorable evening.”
