YORK City will travel to North Yorkshire neighbours Pickering Town for a pre-season clash on Tuesday, July 30.

The Mill Lane contest will kick off at 7.30pm and takes place just four days before the Minstermen’s opening National League North fixture.

City have now confirmed four friendlies ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

The current list is: Wed, July 17 – Hartlepool United (H), 7pm; Sat, July 20 – Scarborough Athletic (H), 1pm; Sat, July 27 – Notts County (H), 12.30pm; Tues, July 30 – Pickering Town (A), 7.30pm.

City chief Steve Watson, meanwhile, is scheduled to come face to face with former club Gateshead next term following their demotion to National League North.

The Heed were suspended from the National League in May despite finishing 17th last season following a nine-point deduction after breaking financial rules.

It was expected that the north-east outfit would be forced to play even further down the football pyramid, but a change in owners has seen the International Stadium club drop just one division.

The relegation means Aldershot have been given a National League reprieve from relegation, having finished fourth-bottom in 2018/19.

Oxford City, who had been pencilled in for a switch to National League North, will also now remain in National League South.

The full National League North line-up for 2019/20 is: AFC Telford United, Alfreton Town, Altrincham, Blyth Spartans, Boston United, Brackley Town, Bradford Park Avenue, Chester, Curzon Ashton, Darlington, Farsley Celtic, Gateshead, Gloucester City, Guiseley, Hereford, Kettering Town, Kidderminster Harriers, King's Lynn Town, Leamington, Southport, Spennymoor Town, York City.
