YORK City have announced they will face National League outfit Hartlepool United in a pre-season friendly at Bootham Crescent.
Kick off is at 7pm on Wednesday, July 17.
This is the second fixture City have confirmed. The Minstermen will face Notts County - who were relegated to the National League last season - 10 days later on Saturday, July 27 (12.30pm).
Both matches fit manager Steve Watson’s requirements, with the City chief saying he would rather his side face “appropriate” tests in pre-season than play money-spinning fixtures.
Hartlepool - from whom City recaptured midfielder Paddy McLaughlin this year - finished last season 16th in a congested National League mid-table, just one point off 11th.
City last faced Pools in the 2015/16 season in League Two, where the North East side came out on top with two 2-1 wins.
