SCARBOROUGH Athletic have won the North Riding County FA Senior Cup after beating Marske United on penalties in the final.
After a 2-2 draw in normal time, the Seadogs overcame their lower-division opponents on spot kicks - just as they did York City in the semi-final.
Goalkeeper Tommy Taylor was the hero at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium, saving three Marske spot kicks as last year's runners-up won 3-2 and claimed new manager John Deacey a first piece of silverware with the club.
The trophy is some consolation for Boro, who missed out on the Evo-Stik League premier division play-offs after looking like contenders for much of the season.
East division outfit Marske opened the scoring midway through the first half with Jamie Owens latching onto a long ball in the six-yard box.
Boro were level before half-time though. Top scorer James Walshaw went down in the box under keeper Robert Dean's challenge, who saved Walshaw's first attempt but could not keep out the follow-up.
Former Minsterman and Scarborough captain Michael Coulson put the Seadogs into the lead on the hour before Craig Gott curled in a 73rd-minute equaliser for Marske.
