NORTH Yorkshire teams Footballers and Selby College 'B' both made it to the semi-finals of the FA People’s Cup at St George's Park at the weekend.
Both teams won two regional qualifiers in February and March to reach the national finals at the home of England's national sides in the country's biggest five-a-side football competition.
York outfit Footballers made it to the last four in the adult males category, narrowly losing 1-0 to Lucky 7 in a tight affair, while Selby College 'B' lost 2-0 to Boubacar in a high-quality college males category match-up.
Footballers manager Tom Maskel said: “It’s been a great experience. We’ll go one step further next year."
More than 5,000 teams took part in the FA People’s Cup this season with more than 27,000 participants playing across 15 categories.
