JORDAN Burrow has won The Press Player of the Year award ahead of this afternoon’s final match at home to Telford.

City’s 18-goal top scorer, who has also contributed the most assists at the club with 11, has an unassailable lead at the top, having moved five points clear of nearest rival Kallum Griffiths.

Burrow made certain of the trophy by winning our man-of-the-match honours for the 3-1 victory at Bradford Park Avenue on Easter Monday.

He received three points for that accolade, with Macaulay Langstaff (two) and Griffiths (one) also recognised for their efforts as The Press’ second and third-highest rated performers at the Horsfall Stadium.

Paddy McLaughlin received the two Player of the Month bonus points after topping our online Twitter man-of-the-match poll.

For the Good Friday 3-2 home defeat to Spennymoor, The Press points were shared out between our man-of-the-match Langstaff (three), Griffiths (two) and Alex Kempster (one).

Sean Newton collected the Player of the Month bonus points for topping the internet poll.

During the 2-2 draw at Chester, Adriano Moke (three points), Langstaff (two) and Scott Burgess (one) were rated The Press’ top three players.

Moke also picked up the bonus points.
