YORKSHIRE Women's League division one champions City of York Hockey Club Ladies II enjoyed a 2-1 victory at Leeds III.
On a wet day in West Yorkshire, Fay Chapman and Vicky Skilton were on target to avenge defeat to Leeds in November - City's sole loss of the season so far.
City started well, with their fluid passing game ensuring dominance. Chapman opened the scoring for City from a short corner and, five minutes later, Skilton doubled their advantage.
Leeds - who started the second half strongly - pulled one back from a short corner.
City Ladies III lost 5-3 at home to high-flying Driffield II. Desi Willms struck twice and Molly Petherbridge once for eighth-placed York.
Acomb remain 11th in the table after a 6-1 defeat at Bridlington.
Two penalty corner strikes put the Tangerines on the back foot before Sally Fairweather’s penalty corner strike ricocheted in off the foot of a home player to reduce the deficit with 10 minutes remaining of the first half.
The one-goal gap was short-lived as the hosts scored their third from close range before the break.
Acomb turned in a ragged performance in the second half while Bridlington were too strong, finding the backboard three more times.
City Ladies I took a point away from their North Women's League division one double header at home, drawing 1-1 with high-fliers Chester on Saturday before losing 2-1 to Brooklands II on Sunday.
City Ladies IV lost 3-1 at Bingley Bees in Yorkshire Women's League division three.
In division four north, City Ladies V were trounced 6-0 at home by already promoted Pickering, for whom Anna Aspery scored four goals. Laura Dobson and Vicky Twamley also netted.
In division five north, basement side City Ladies VI lost 2-0 at University of Leeds VI.
