Moment of the match: What else but the late winner? Having fought back from 16-0 down to 18-16 up thanks to three tries in a superb 10-minute salvo, York conceded a try to fall 22-18 behind again with the clock ticking down. But in a late attack, on the last tackle, Ben Cockayne sent a lovely little grubber in goal and Matty Marsh was onto it like a shot.
Gaffe of the match: Connor Robinson sent a cross-field kick to the right corner where Rams winger Alex Brown made a real hash of it, flapping at the ball and simply patting it half-heartedly into the air, handing Ash Robson a simple finish – York’s second try of their fightback.
Gamebreaker: Matty Marsh's 78th-minute match-winning try.
Match rating: It was hard going for much of the game before York turned on some style and completed a superb comeback victory – getting off the mark in the Championship in notable fashion.
