CENTRE-BACK David Mirfin has joined York City on loan from League Two side Mansfield Town until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old - who has won promotion three times in his career - has gone straight into the squad for today's National League North game at Alfreton Town.
Sheffield-born Mirfin has made more than 450 appearances in the Football League for clubs including Huddersfield Town, Scunthorpe United and Watford.
He started his career at Huddersfield, helping the Terriers win promotion from the old Division Three in 2004 and being voted the Players' Player of the Year in 2006/07, before joining Scunthorpe in the summer of 2008 and playing a major role in their promotion to, and subsequent survival in, the Championship.
After a brief spell at Watford, Mirfin returned to Scunthorpe for a further five years in January 2012 and won promotion to League One in 2014.
He had a spell on loan at Hartlepool United in the 2014/15 season and joined Mansfield two summers ago.
Meanwhile, following the wintry weather, Alfreton were to stage a pitch inspection this morning ahead of the scheduled 3pm kick off.
