TADCASTER Albion are out for revenge tomorrow as they look to retain their status as the Evo-Stik League east division’s best away side.

The Brewers visit Carlton Town eager to get their own back after the 2-0 opening-day defeat to the Millers at the i2i Stadium.

Taddy - who received the east division’s Club of the Month award for November - have reason to feel confident at Stoke Lane, with their total of 21 points from nine away games being the best in the competition. They have also won their last five on the bounce by an aggregate of 15-3.

When goal difference is taken into the account, they are second only to Scarborough (with 22 away points) throughout all three Evo-Stik League divisions.

Club spokesman Jay Taylor said: “We’re definitely looking for some revenge this Saturday. We were below-par the first game of the season and Carlton deservedly got the victory.

“But we’ve got the best away record in the division and we’re looking to keep that going. Our squad is capable of beating anyone. We’re not scared by anyone.

“We’re more confident going away from home and we’re looking to get one over on them.”

Then, on Boxing Day (1pm), Taddy host the eagerly-anticipated North Yorkshire derby against Pickering Town, managed by former Brewers boss Paul Marshall.

Taylor said: “We’re massively looking forward to it, and it’s Pickering’s biggest game of the season.

“They’ve got a lot of connections and friends at the club but I’m sure Marshy will get his team fired up. It’s a game he’ll want to win and cause an upset with.”

“We’re expecting a massive crowd. Obviously, connections with both clubs will bring lots of the crowd back, those who left Taddy to watch Pickering because they love Marshy and certain players, especially with the early kick-off. It’ll be great to see some old faces again.”

One familiar face be Pickering's Tadcaster fan-favourite, Josh Greening, who moved to Mill Lane in the summer.

Taylor said of the striker: “He was a legend in our eyes, he scored some important goals in our title-winning season and he’s much-loved on the terraces.

“It’s a shame we couldn’t get him back last season – and hopefully he won’t come back to haunt us.”

Tadcaster have a fully fit squad this weekend, barring long-term absentee goalkeeper Michael Ingham, for whom James Hodges will deputise.

Forward Lamin Colley has left the club. He scored four goals in 16 appearances for the Brewers.

Elsewhere in the east division, Pickering welcome Sheffield FC to Mill Lane. Eighth-placed Sheffield are the joint-fourth highest scorers in the division, hitting the net 36 times in 17 games. They have, however, conceded 36 times too.

Premier division high-fliers Scarborough Athletic travel to Workington tomorrow before hosting South Shields on Boxing Day.

Selby Town missed the opportunity to go second in Northern Counties East League division one following a 2-2 draw at Grimsby Borough last weekend. Tomorrow, the Robins visit Swallownest.

In the premier division, Knaresborough Town visit Goole AFC and Harrogate Railway visit Hall Road Rangers.

Third-placed in the National League, Harrogate Town visit Eastleigh tomorrow and host Halifax Town on Boxing Day.
