THE second round of the York Tackle-sponsored York Winter League, fished below York, was won by Barlby Villages Stores' John Cyrowski.

The river had an extra two metres of water in so bream were again likely to be the quarry.

Cyrowski had 18lb 6oz including four bream and two skimmers from the tall trees in the donkey woods. These were caught on groundbait feeder with worm/maggot on the hook.

Second-placed Chris Burton (Anglers World) had a bream-filled catch of 16lb 5oz with Mick Doyle (X Men) third with 15lb.

The last two to frame, C Hardy (X Men) and D Miller (White Rose), had 12lb 6oz and 10lb 8oz respectively, both catches again dominated by bream.

Barlby Village Stores won the team honours with 42lb 7oz followed by X Men with 39lb and White Rose 33lb 15oz, with the total weight caught by all eight teams being 220lb.
