HUNTINGTON Rovers got their York Minster Engineering League premier division title challenge back on track with a 3-2 win over Hemingbrough United - thanks to a hat-trick from former Tadcaster Albion striker Danny Gray.

On a day when conditions were less than favourable, Huntington trailed the Selby side before the treble by Gray - who has also played for Pickering Town, Selby Town and Scarborough Athletic in non-League football - ensured they remained two points ahead of Old Malton St Mary's at the top of the table.

The two leading sides clash at the Fitzwilliam Sports Field on Saturday.

Old Malton, who have two games in hand on the leaders, kept up their tremendous form ahead of that big match with a 4-0 victory over Copmanthorpe.

Steve Baxter gave St Mary's a half-time lead and that was built on by second-half strikes from Jack Simpson, Liam Preston and Marcus Godsell.

Third-placed Wigginton Grasshoppers came from two down to beat F1 Racing 3-2.

The latter took the lead after 10 minutes following a great team move, Jonathan Giordano striking home from the edge of the box.

It became 2-0 10 minutes later as George Misailides beat his defender and placed a low shot into the corner of the goal.

F1, handling the conditions better, restricted Hoppers to only half-chances before the break - but the home side made the most of the change of ends.

Matthew Tiplady produced a clinical finish to make it 2-1 on 52 minutes and three minutes later and it was all square, the wind steering Eddy Clapham's corner into the goal.

The final strike of the game came in the 62nd minute, Harry Clapham's cross-cum-shot finding its way into the far corner.

After taking four points off league frontrunners in their last two games, Dunnington were brought crashing back to earth following a masterful performance from Dringhouses, who ran out 4-1 victors.

Dave Watson put Dringhouses ahead with a fine volley into the top corner before Matthew Mulhearn sailed round his defender and slotted through the keeper's legs to double the lead.

Simon Castle pulled a goal back for the hosts before Sam Drake restored Houses two-goal cushion. Mulhearn then sealed the points, outpacing the Dunnington back line from half-way before cutting in and firing the ball into the far corner.

Kirkbymoorside collected an important three points from a 4-2 success over Thorpe United, while Tadcaster Magnets gained their sixth victory of the season with a 2-0 triumph over struggling Osbaldwick.

Pocklington Town kept up their momentum at the top of division one with a 4-1 success over Haxby Town.

Nathan Walker hit a hat-tick with Dan Boneham also on target.

Pock remain eight points clear of Strensall Tigers, who saw off Bishopthorpe United 6-2 thanks to goals by Danny Franks (2), Liam Wingfield, Kieran Flanagan, Tom Wood and Luke Quantock.

Regular marksmen Josh Cryer and Nick Kennedy netted for Easingwold Town but Rawcliffe won 3-2 thanks to efforts from Niall Smallwood (2) and Paul Branscombe - leapfrogging their

opponents into third place.

Adam Fairhurst scored the only goal of the game as Tockwith defeated Harrison Signs, while first-half strikes from Tom Collins and Lewys Williams helped Cliffe to beat local rivals Riccall United 2-0.

Malton & Norton piled further misery onto Heworth, beating them 2-0 thanks to goals by man-of-the-match Liam Burdett and Sam Hall.

In division two, Brian Robertson gave Pollington the lead against leaders Civil Service but in-form Luke Addison made it 1-1 shortly before the break.

David Durham restored mid-table Pollington's lead but Joe Mason grabbed another equaliser in the last minute.

Nathan Spreckley (2), Matthew Wain and Adam Harrison netted in second-placed Stamford Bridge's 4-0 win at Wilberfoss, while The Beagle climbed up to third following a 1-0 success at Barmby Moor.

Louis Blackwell hit a hat-trick for Bubwith White Swan against Cawood. However, despite further Swan strikes from Elliot Precious and Billy Robinson, Cawood won a thriller 6-5.

Richard Kendall, James Smith and Alex Smith netted for division three pacesetters Wheldrake in their 3-1 victory over Walnut Tree. Ellis Turbine replied.

Wombleton Wanderers saw off Stillington Sports and Social Club 6-0, while a last-minute effort from Tom Green gave Crayke United a 1-0 success over Selby Olympia.

Rob Carr, Rob Corker and Jonny Adlington fired Heslington to a 3-2 derby victory over Fulford United, while Swinton defeated LNER Builders 4-2.

Dunnington continue to head up reserve 'A' following a 1-0 victory at Hemingbrough United. Pocklington Town sit second following a 4-0 success over Wigginton Grasshoppers, Tom Knowles hitting a hat-trick with Taylor Wallace adding the fourth.

Ciaran Blondrage (2) and Carl Shepherd fired Poppleton to a 3-1 triumph against Osbaldwick, while Old Malton St Mary's won by the same scoreline at Easingwold.

Tockwith lead reserve 'B' by a point after a narrow 2-1 success at Tadcaster Magnets. Dringhouses are breathing down their necks following a 5-0 derby success over Bishopthorpe United, Wilson Briggs (2), Reece Botterill, Cole Carter and Cam Hall the scorers.

Scott Snowden, Nathan Snowden and Adam Love struck in F1 Racing's 3-2 home win over Copmanthorpe. Jacob Green and Duncan Urquhart bagged for Cop.

Jack Johnson netted for Malton & Norton but his side lost 3-1 at home to Malt Shovel. Stamford Bridge won by the same scoreline at home to Wilberfoss.

Lloyd Crawford gave reserve 'C' leaders Rufforth United a wake-up call when he fired Civil Service into an early lead. However, Rufforth replied in style to win 9-1 - Lewis Chipchase notching a double hat-trick with Phil Martin, Danny Wood and Louis Duffill also getting in on the act.

Scott Stewart and Danny Coulson goals gave Rawcliffe a 2-1 triumph at Harrison Signs, while Wheldrake pipped Cliffe 4-3.
