BURNHOLME pair Sarah Jackson and Sharon Matthews have both won through to the York John Smith’s Ladies League Individual Cup semi-finals.

The duo are joined in the last four by Fulfordgate’s Michelle Britton and Tracy Farmeary, of Acomb.

Jackson progressed after hard fought-wins against Acorn’s Laura Gatenby and Jill Reed, of Fulfordgate, before meeting her sister Jane Dobson who had beaten Zoey Chadwick (Acorn).

After Dobson snatched the first leg, Jackson hit back closing 16, double 16, then double four to clinch victory.

Matthews overcame Gate’s Di Moreland 2-1 and then progressed past Jean West, who defeated Marcia’s Helen Platt 2-0.

In the board final, she faced Priory’s Linda Embleton who had won a double-one shootout to knock out Acorn’s Lauren Tattersfield 2-0.

Matthews closed 77 for the first leg and, after Embleton levelled with a double-top finish, sealed victory with a double-ten shot.

Burnholme’s Marj Pearson, who earlier triumphed 2-0 against sister Lynne Wilstrop, was defeated by Britton after the latter checked out on 89 and went on to seal the win by landing double 18.

She met Wendy Storr next with the Severus player seeing off Jo West and Beagle’s Becky Thompson by throwing a 17-dart leg,

Britton and Storr traded tons before a double-19 check-out handed the former the initiative.

Three tons and a double-ten finish subsequently saw Britton through in style.

Farmeary sent Holgate’s Kirsty Limbert and Muriel Britton packing on her road to the board final, where she took on team-mate Tina Platt, who had won a gruelling 2-1 battle with Sammy Benton (Acorn) and prevailed 2-0 against Mandy Young.

Having taken the first leg, Farmeary pounced to check out on 80 after Platt had just missed a shot at 118.

In the York White Rose Ladies Darts League, Indoor Bowls delivered a great 5-2 home win against Acomb Sports with Monika Geller scoring a ton.

White Horse beat King William 4-3 in a match that saw Rose Hattee hit 108 and Teresa Walker throw a 114.

Ebor sealed a 4-3 home win against New Earswick Bowls, even though Elaine Feather claiming a 109 for the latter.

Despite only having three players, Burton Lane were 4-3 winners against New York.

Christine Hedley (102) and Den Fahey (100) were in fine form for their respective teams.
