DANIEL Pedras his a hat-trick as York City Futsal got back to winning ways in the FA Super League following a 6-2 home victory over Cambridge United.

The hosts’ other marksmen were Fabinho Almeida (two) and Michael Bulmer, as City bounced back from two straight defeats.

York forged ahead in the third minute when Pedras converted a cross to the far post and he went on to hit the post with a fierce free kick moments later, before turning his defender and firing a low shot into the corner to add a second goal.

Bulmer went on to miss three chances and the deficit was cut from a quickly-taken corner.

Within a minute of the restart, Almeida scored a screamer from a well-worked corner and, shortly afterwards, Pedras intercepted a long throw from the away keeper before powering in a shot for his hat-trick goal.

Pedras struck the post with another fierce drive before the best move of the match saw all the York outfield players involved in some incisive passing, releasing Manuel Mankoke before he unselfishly drew the goalkeeper and set up Bulmer for a simple tap-in.

A minute later, a near identical move saw the roles reversed but Mankoke hit the post.

At the other end, City keeper Martin Michels made three fine saves within a six-minute spell - the last being a brilliant one-on-one stop at the feet of the Cambridge attacker.

The visitors flew their keeper and pulled a goal back but, with the clock down to one second, Almeida had the last say, cleverly lifted the ball over the advancing keeper for a classy finish.
