KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will entertain York City in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy having conceded four goals in each of their last two home contests.

Both matches ended in crushing defeats for Neil MacFarlane’s men with Chorley 4-0 victors at Aggborough last weekend – a fortnight after Southport had left with maximum National League North points following a 4-1 thumping.

Those results came in the wake of a 2-1 reverse against FC United of Manchester on Kiddy’s own soil and another loss against the Minstermen would represent the first time the Worcestershire outfit have lost four consecutive home games since January 2015.

Harriers’ recent home woes mean no side in the division has now conceded more league goals, with a tally of 19 only matched by bottom-of-the-table Nuneaton.

Eight league games have also now passed since Kiddy kept a clean sheet in front of their own fans.

Despite a run of just one win in six games – a 4-0 success at Leamington – the Midlands club remain fifth, however, in the table just four points behind leaders Bradford Park Avenue.

Ed Williams, whose progress is being monitored by Championship promotion hopefuls Leeds United, is the hosts’ leading marksman with 11 goals this term.

Former City striker Ashley Chambers, meanwhile, has only hit the target once in his last eight outings and his overall 2018/19 haul of six is the same number that Joe Ironside had managed for tomorrow’s hosts this term before being allowed to move to Bootham Crescent on loan.

Ironside and Kennedy Digie will not be eligible against their parent club, but ex-City midfielder Russ Penn can play having made the permanent switch from North Yorkshire earlier this month.

Penn made the first start of his second spell at the club during the Chorley loss.

Like last weekend, Harriers have a fully-fit squad, as they bid to knock the Minstermen out of the Trophy for a successive campaign, having won 2-1 at Aggborough in the first round proper last term.
