Chiltern gained an excellent bonus point as they beat Diss 38-8 in the London 1 North Division at Weedon Lane last weekend.

Despite Diss going 3-0 up early, Chiltern were on top and Teddy Reus and Joe Batt put the home side 8-3 ahead.

Winger Michael Brothers extended Chiltern’s lead with a superb try before Diss got their only try of the game to make it 15-8 at the break.

Chiltern were then rampant and Monty Weatherall went over after outpacing the Diss defence which he converted himself.

Shortly afterwards we saw the best try of the game. A long mazy run by Joe Butler was well supported by Ben Pothecary who found Brothers in good position to score his second try.

Dan Kingsley then came to the fore with two late tries to make it 38-8, his second one a solo special thanks to a brilliant up-and-under.

A bonus point victory was very satisfying and leaves the team in good heart as they face the daunting trip to Colchester (kick off 2pm) who lie second in the league having only lost so far to run away leaders Rochford.
