GREGG McNally is determined to show Bulls fans he is the real deal next season.

McNally is ready to put his feet up after finally finishing his campaign as Ireland were beaten by John Kear’s Wales.

But as he looks forward to a short break ahead of a later start in the club’s pre-season programme, the full back is already setting down his plans for the Championship.

McNally’s first year at Odsal was ravaged by persistent injury issues – something he hopes to put behind him when the Bulls tackle the second tier.

He said: “I’ve never really had a year like it for injuries, I’ve had big injuries but to be in and out all year was horrible.

“I feel like the Bulls fans and everyone at the club hasn’t seen the real Gregg McNally.”

His appetite for a return to the Championship has also been whetted by the recent recruitment drive. McNally pinpoints the capture of Jake Webster and former loan star Jy Hitchcox as proof the Bulls are not just there to make up the numbers.

He added: “A lot gets said from people around Super League about the levels in the Championship, but in my eyes, I’d argue it may be tougher.

“There are more teams ready to challenge and it’ll be a tough year.

“It’s a very physical league, there are a lot of players ready to take your head off so to speak.

“We’ve got a good squad that is only getting better with the new signings. We’re moving towards the ultimate goal.

“Jake and Jy both have experience at the highest level of the game which is something we’ve missed at times.

“We’ve seen first-hand what Jy can do and these are exciting times for everyone at the club.

“There’s a big emphasis on keeping this group together. Those who have been together for a few years understand the atmosphere, there is definitely something brewing here.”
