PICKERING Town faced their Evo-Stik East Division relegation rivals AFC Mansfield in the FA Trophy, and the two sides showed how evenly matched they are after a dramatic 2-2 draw.

The second qualifying round clash saw hosts Mansfield take the lead in the 33rd minute, bundling home after a free-kick had been spilled by Pickering keeper Charlie Andrew.

The visitors were only behind for a minute though, as Josh Greening turned inside the box before firing the ball into the corner.

Billy Logan missed a brilliant chance for Town on the hour, and he was made to pay as Mansfield regained the lead from another set-piece.

The omnipresent Greening proved pivotal in bring Pickering back level. He was flattened in the box after 72 minutes and Ryan Blott netted the penalty to ensure a home replay on Tuesday night.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division, Knaresborough Town suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 home defeat to title rivals Penistone Church.

The tight contest was settled early on, with the unfortunate Gregg Anderson putting through his own net in the 13th minute.

Defeat saw Knaresborough fall nine points behind leaders Yorkshire Amateur, although they still have three games in hand.

Elsewhere, rock-bottom Harrogate Railway Athletic lost 3-2 at home to Eccleshill United, but they went ahead early on through Aaron Kitao.

Eccleshill turned it round and were 2-1 up after 20 minutes, before a third just after half-time gave them some breathing space.

Fraser Lancaster pulled one back late on, but Railway could not force a crucial equaliser.

Finally, Selby Town put on a fabulous late show to thrash FC Bolsover 4-1 on their travels.

Carl Stewart put the visitors 1-0 up just before half-time, before three goals in the last 10 minutes from Charlie Clamp, Joseph Dale and Liam Flanagan wrapped the game up, despite Bolsover's injury time consolation.
