OLD Malton St Mary's kept their York Minster Engineering League premier division title hopes on track with a decisive 3-0 victory over rivals Dringhouses at St Helen's Road.

Steve Baxter, Callum Scott and Marcus Godsell bagged the goals for Malton, who remain six points behind Huntington Rovers with a game in hand on the league leaders.

Rovers enjoyed their visit to manager Chris Smith's former club, Osbaldwick, leaving 7-1 winners and maintaining their position as title favourites.

Danny Gray helped himself to a first-half hat-trick and Chris Dyson hit a brace as Rovers cruised into a 5-0 interval lead, Matt Colven making some excellent saves to maintain their clean sheet.

Matty O'Connell hit a stunning consolation goal for Osbaldwick midway through the second half before two goals in three minutes at the death from Gray took his personal tally to five and completed the scoring.

Sporting Knavesmire started their game with F1 Racing brightly but F1 grew into the contest and led at the break following a curling effort from Dan Clubley.

Sporting came out strongly in the second period and equalised after 55 minutes through Tom Williams.

However, the visitors weathered a period of pressure and took a grip on proceedings when Giorgios Misailidid scored following a flowing team move. Two goals from Dan Hickey, the first from the penalty spot, sealed a 4-1 success for F1.

Wigginton Grasshoppers beat Kirkbymoorside 2-0.

Kirkby enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges, missing two chances to take the lead in the first quarter of an hour.

The home side began to get on top towards the end of the first half, and started the second period much the brighter.

Wigginton's attacks were finally rewarded after 75 minutes when Jamie Willstrop controlled a looping ball from Tom Derbyshire and fired home. A well-taken effort from Kain Rogerson eight minutes later sealed the success

Luke Wilkinson struck the only goal of the game as Poppleton beat visitors Hemingbrough United and rose to eighth in the table. Thorpe United notched an impressive 5-1 win at Dunnington - Paul Moran bagging four and Ryan Hughes one for the Selby side. Robert Rubia hit the reply.

In division one, with Pocklington Town and Easingwold Town not in league action, Strensall made the most of their opportunity to gain ground on the teams above them, defeating Harrison Signs 3-0 to move to within three points of Pock at the summit.

Ali Bell (2) and Jack Bell struck the goals.

Rawcliffe turned on the style, putting eight past Haxby without response. Louis Howarth led the way with four, with Henry Wharton (2), Dan Hobson and Stuart Jenkins also netting.

John Moore, Luke Laverack and Cal Marshall netted as Heworth recorded their first victory of the season with a 3-1 win over Cliffe, for whom Ben Littlefield scored.

Rufforth continued to rack up the goals in division two, winning 9-1 at Clifford. Muhamed Joof grabbed Clifford's consolation.

Luke Addison and Alex Day bagged braces to fire Civil Service to a 4-1 success at Barmby Moor. Liam Booth replied.

Nathan Spreckley hit all the goals as third-placed Stamford Bridge beat Cawood 4-0.

Robin Goforth and Michael Linsley fired Brooklyn to a 2-0 win over Pollington. Wilberfoss beat Bubwith White Swan 4-0.

In division three, LNER Builders defeated Stillington Sports and Social Club 5-0 to move to within a point of leaders Selby Olympia.

Russ Carr hit a double hat-trick as Heslington hammered Elm Park 11-1. Chris Asquith (2), Danny Mairs (2) and Dan Topping were also on target, Dom Taylor grabbing Elm Park's consolation.

Mike Whiteley (2) and Danny Holmes netted in Walnut Tree's 3-1 success over Wombleton Wanderers.
