NESTLE Rowntree claimed their second five-point victory of this Yorkshire Four season as they won 42-21 at bottom side Sheffield Oaks.

Nestle remain second from bottom, but the try-bonus point puts them in touching distance of fifth-placed Stocksbridge who lost at Trees' cross-city rivals York RI.

Rowntree had their hosts under pressure from the kick-off, and hooker Ryan Roodt capitalised on a loose ball from a lineout to charge 20 metres for a try which Dave Harder converted.

But Oaks were level within minutes and then their scrum-half - who was in fine form - set up the attack for their second try.

A good Trees attack saw prop Jack Gabbatiss crash over from a cleverly-worked lineout, with Harder adding the extras to level, before Oaks again took the lead just before the break.

Trees responded nearly straight from restart through wing-forward Dan Crump and, as the visitors began to dominate play, a loose ball at a Sheffield ruck saw Fred Hudson run in from 70 metres for another seven-pointer.

After a brief hiatus from try-line action, Gabbatiss crossed following a strong run from centre Zak Hardy before Harder nipped in for a final score and conversion.
