HEWORTH 'A' continued their unbeaten start to the York Conservative Clubs Snooker League season with a 6-1 victory over Bootham 'A'.

Frame winners were Mark Winskill (24 break), Gary Douglas (22 break) Clive White, Liam Pullen (24 break) and Mark Hodson, plus a walkover. Bootham's sole reply came from Stuart Martel.

Fulford 'A' beat Heworth 'B' 4-3 in a hard-fought match - a walkover frame proving decisive.

Victors for Fulford were Sam Parkinson, Dave Sattaur and Dave Reed. Heworth replied through D Sinclair, Ian Strickland and Andi Ireland

Acomb 'B' had a good 5-2 victory over Fulford 'B' with Chris Nicholson, Kevin Ventress, John Ashwell, Andy Syone and Steve Rodgers on the mark. Phil Cooke and Mo Mohammed replied.

Malton bagged their first win of term, 5-2 against Bootham 'B', with Steve Pawson, Roger Ward, Dan Pawson and Chris Atkinson starring. They also had a walkover. Paul Scorfield and Lionel Barnes won for Bootham.

In the Billiards League, Fulford had a big victory over Heworth on aggregate by 580-333, mainly due to Wayne Puleston defeating Darren Clark by 213 points.

Tom Lewis pipped Carl De Pasquale 150-142 in a tight frame and Terry Ward (33 break) beat Gary Rogers (40 and 42 breaks) 150-104. Mark Winskill got Heworth's only win, beating Alan Reed 150-130.

Bootham and Acomb fought out a close match for the aggregate point, Bootham coming out 528-523 victors.

The frames were shared as Bootham's Matt Smith beat Adrian Barraclough and Tim Fillingham defeated Paul Holmes 150-109. In reply Mick Borg (24 break) beat Paul Mahoney and Trevor Ventress beat Ian Robinson 150-118.
