YORK City supporters can take their place alongside a portrait of club legend Keith Walwyn at the new community stadium.

Permission has been given by the City of York Council to create a ‘City Wall’ at the Monks Cross venue and it will be situated within the south/south-east corner of the arena, with the intention to celebrate the passion and loyalty of the club’s supporters.

The wall will feature a 75cm x 60cm central portrait of 1980s’ fans favourite Walwyn, drawn by City fan Linda Howe, on white ceramic tile.

Further 15cm x 15cm tiles, positioned around it and incorporating the club’s badge, are then available for City supporters to write a three-line message, consisting of up to 60 characters.

The Wall will be a permanent feature at the new stadium and all tiles will come with a 'Certificate of Authenticity,' while replica tiles will also be available to purchase for home delivery.

Anybody who buys a tile will also be invited to attend an unveiling ceremony before the start of next season.

Order forms for tiles will be available in the club’s matchday programme for the home match against Bradford Park Avenue on November 3 and, thereafter, in the club shop and online via the club’s official website.

The cost of each tile is £49.95, and Certificates of Authenticity will be dispatched before Christmas on all orders placed before December 10, 2018.

Replica tiles cost an additional £39.95 but cannot be dispatched at this stage.
