ECCLESHILL United winger Jake Thompson is "positively now up and walking" after being stretchered off with a back injury at Tadcaster Albion.

The Northern Counties East League premier club tweeted the good news hours after the West Riding County Cup first-round tie, which saw 11 minutes of stoppage time to account for the 19-year-old winger's injury that had physios from both clubs on the pitch.

Taddy won the game 3-1.

Thompson had scored a first-half equaliser to cancel out Billy Whitehouse's 22nd-minute penalty before goals from Lamin Colley and Casey Stewart gave Evo-Stik League east side Taddy their third win on the bounce in all competitions.
