SELBY Town completed the double over Ollerton Town as an action-packed 4-2 home win put them sixth in Division One of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

A second-half brace from Selby's Liam Flanagan proved crucial, following a flashpoint before the break which saw a player from each side dismissed.

Selby took the lead in the 21st minute. A free-kick was only half-cleared and the low cross back in was turned home by Liam Neal at the far post.

Ollerton hit the woodwork from a corner just before half-time before an unsavoury melee broke out a minute later.

Selby's Will Ramsay was flattened by a bad tackle which saw everyone lose their heads. The visitors' Josh Brentnall was dismissed in the ensuing altercation, while Ramsay also saw red.

Further punishment saw the Ollerton physio sent off, while Neal picked up a booking.

After the break, Selby played with more purpose and Joe Dale found Sam Cable in the 57th minute, whose shot goalwards was just scrambled over the line by Liam Flanagan.

The prolific Gavin King struck back for Ollerton with a neat chip but the Dale and Cable combination soon worked again, with the latter chesting the ball down before volleying home.

Flanagan made it 4-1 late on before King turned the hosts' returning captain Ryan Gothard to fire in his second and complete the scoring.

Meanwhile, in the division above, Knaresborough Town took the lead three times at home to Worksop Town, before the visitors netted a last-gasp equaliser.

Harrogate Railway Athletic were also cursing an injury-time goal, as Yorkshire Amateur left it late to beat them 2-1.

In the Vanarama National League, Harrogate Town won 2-0 at Ebbsfleet United to go third, with Callum Howe and Aaron Williams both on target.

Scarborough Athletic went top with a 3-1 win at mid-table Stafford Rangers in the Evo-Stik Premier Division thanks to goals from Wayne Brooksby, James Walshaw and Kevin Burgess.

Finally, Joe Danby and Josh Greening scored with fine strikes late on for Pickering Town, but they left themselves too much to do in a 3-2 home defeat against high-flying Gresley in the Evo-Stik East Division.
