YORK City Knights are going to celebrate their Betfred League One-winning campaign with an end-of-season awards dinner at York Racecourse.

The ceremony, which also marks the 150th year anniversary of the Minster city's rugby club, will be held on Saturday, November 10 and be hosted by BBC Look North’s Harry Gration.

It will start at 7pm with a bucks fizz reception, to be followed by a three-course meal prior to the presentation of awards, which will include The Press Player of the Year accolade.

Fans will get chance to meet and have photographs with the players and check out the club's new silverware. It will end with a disco.

The Knights memorably beat Bradford Bulls to the League One crown and then won four accolades at the Betfred Awards night in Manchester, with James Ford being named the division's Coach of the Year, half-back Connor Robinson being voted the Player of the Year, and the Foundation of the Year and League One Club of the Year gongs also coming back to the Minster city.

A club statement said the racecourse event "will be the culmination of a very memorable year for rugby league in York".

It added: "We’ll take you through the key moments of the season for the whole club, as the ladies' team made history by becoming inaugural Super League members, and the men's team swept all before them on their way to becoming Betfred League One champions.

"This evening is a chance for the club, players, partner organisations and fans to come together to celebrate a remarkable season and recognise the contributions that have been made in making the 150th year of York RL so memorable."

All money raised through the event will go towards the Knights Foundation's work in the community.

The dress code for the evening is formal and tickets, priced £45 per person or £425 for a table of 10, can be booked by emailing Zillah Ingledew at z.ingledew@yorkcityknights.com or phoning 01904 876850.
